Beach and woodland days

Beach rules and walks at Bosherston and Colby

Broad Haven South and Barafundle

Both beaches welcome dogs all year. Broad Haven North has dog-free sections from 1 May to 30 September, as do Amroth and Poppit Sands. Tenby North and Whitesands ban dogs across the whole beach on those dates. Check the signs for the permitted areas.

Bosherston Lily Ponds

The one-mile Lily Ponds loop starts at Bosherston car park. Keep dogs on leads along the lakeside gravel paths, which include rough ground and roots. Allow for two narrow causeways and a steeper section. You can continue towards Broad Haven South for a longer outing.

Colby Woodland Garden

Take an on-lead walk through Colby's meadow and woodland; the shorter route is about 1.2 miles. Paths can be steep and narrow, with steps in places. Only assistance dogs can enter the Walled Garden and Bothy Tearoom.

At the cottage

Garden space and the walk home

Look closely at the approach if your dog struggles with hills or steps, especially at the Tenby and Solva stays.

Amroth

Swn y mor in Amroth has the sea across the road and a pub next door; weekend music can be loud.

Tenby

At The Nest Brython in Tenby, the garden has a lawn and decking but is not enclosed. Steps and a steep downhill path lead from the parking space, and Saturday or Sunday check-ins are not permitted.

Tavernspite and Narberth

Mountain View Lodge has an enclosed rear lawn; Dairy Cottage has an enclosed patio. Each welcomes one small dog, and they share a dog-walking field. The Barn at Waunlippa near Narberth suits a couple, with a private courtyard and wider shared grounds. Watch the dog around the pond and stream.

Around Haverfordwest

At Mill Barn Denant, the bedroom is for two adults; two children can use occasional mattresses, with bedding brought from home. Rudbaxton Water has two ground-floor bedrooms and a utility room for walking gear.

Lawrenny or Pembroke Dock

Copybush Cottage sits on a rural lane near Lawrenny, with a lawn beside the hot tub and a utility room for muddy boots. The single-storey 1 Gloucester Way puts you in Pembroke Dock, with an enclosed rear lawn if a town base suits your plans.

Near Maenclochog and Newport

The Old Dairy at New Moat, near Maenclochog, has an enclosed lawn. Bwthyn Eisteddfa Fach at Brynberian takes one dog for stays of at least seven nights; use a lead near livestock. Y Felin at Coed Cadw allows two small or medium dogs. Its streamside garden is not dog-proof, so plan on using a lead outside and ask through the booking page about the separate dog exercise area.

Cilgerran and St Dogmaels

Station Hall in Cilgerran has an enclosed rear lawn and space for six people. Teifi Villa at St Dogmaels sleeps eighteen, with a boot room and drying rail for walking gear. Its two dogs must be small, booked and paid for in advance. The hot tub is on a gravelled rear area, with a separate garden to the side.

Solva

Harmon Vale is a three-storey townhouse for ten people and two dogs, with the hot tub on an enclosed rear patio. The harbour is within walking distance, but the hill back is steep.
