Before choosing a walk
Beach zones, woodland paths and Lincoln's lakes
East Lindsey's seasonal beach order names Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea and Skegness. Dogs are excluded from designated sections of those beaches between 1 May and 30 September, with leads required on the adjacent promenades during those months. The ban applies to the mapped zones, not the whole Lincolnshire coast.
Ostlers Plantation has a network of paths for walking, cycling and horse riding, and dogs are allowed. The entrance and free car park are off Kirkby Lane in Woodhall Spa. Opening hours run from dawn until dusk.
A full circuit of Hartsholme Lake covers 3.1km. Keep dogs under control and out of marked dog-free areas; the lake is for wildlife, with no swimming or paddling. Neighbouring Swanholme Lakes has 1km and 2km routes, where dogs must stay on leads and out of the water.
Where to stay in Lincolnshire
Coastal gardens and inland lakeside stays
Choose the part of the county first, then compare the outdoor layout and house rules below. The hot tubs belong to the individual stays; holiday-park pools, entertainment and other facilities may require separate paid passes. Lakeside gardens need supervision even where decking has a gate.
Anderby Creek and Mablethorpe
Beach Haven at Anderby Creek sleeps six and takes two dogs, with separate enclosed gardens and a hot-tub area. Garden access involves the driveway, so accompany your dog between spaces. CCTV covers the parking area. The Beach Haven in Mablethorpe sleeps eight and takes three dogs in an enclosed garden. Its bedrooms include adult bunks. At the Mablethorpe property, the hot tub may still be heating on arrival; bookings require at least three nights and a Friday changeover.
North Somercotes and Kenwick Park
Tawny Owl Cottage offers a two-person stay with two dogs and its own enclosed garden, reached past the garage. The owner's home and another holiday unit share the site, with separate gardens and hot tubs. Kenwick Park's Forest Lodge and 64 Acorn Lodge are six-person woodland stays with private hot tubs on decks. Forest Lodge permits one dog; Acorn leaves the number unstated, so confirm your party when booking. Access to Kenwick Park's pool, spa and gym costs extra.
Wainfleet and the Wrangle barns
Marsh View Cottage sleeps two on one level and takes one small dog. Its rear garden is enclosed; the front is not, and road noise can carry. Acacia Barn and The Stables are neighbours at Wrangle Bank Farm, each with a private hot tub. Acacia sleeps six in three doubles, with a fenced garden; confirm its dog limit. The Stables sleeps eight on one level and takes two dogs, supervised outside in unenclosed grounds. Both have Monday or Friday arrivals and a three-night minimum.
Scampton, Ingham and Faldingworth Grange
Hideaway at Scampton sleeps thirteen in four bedrooms and takes one dog, with an enclosed garden on a shared holiday site. Farriers Cottage in Ingham sleeps four and takes two dogs; its courtyard hot tub is not fully screened and parking is limited to one car. Hall Farm at Faldingworth Grange sleeps twelve and takes three dogs, but boundary gaps, horses and visiting dogs mean supervision outside. Its pool has scheduled swimming lessons, so check the timetable before planning private pool time.
Thorpe-on-the-Hill and North Hykeham
The Green Monkey sleeps four at North Hykeham, with a gated deck and an unstated dog limit. At Thorpe-on-the-Hill, Dorado Lodge and Sunset Lodge No.6 each sleep six and take one dog; Lodge 3 sleeps four and takes two. Each has a private hot tub and unenclosed grounds; supervise dogs around lakes. Dorado has a raised bedroom open to its living space. No.6 is not lakefront and accepts Wednesday or Saturday arrivals. Lodge 3 has steps down to its lawn.
Woodhall Spa and Metheringham
Daisy Tree Cottage sleeps six and takes two dogs. Small dogs may fit through a gap by the side gate, and the hot tub may finish heating after arrival. Woodhall Spa's Sunset Lodge sleeps four and takes two small dogs, kept out of bedrooms. It has lakeside decking and an off-lead dog area on site; arrivals are Monday or Friday for set-length breaks. Millcott near Metheringham sleeps four and takes two dogs, kept on leads outside. Its hot tub costs extra per stay; confirm the current charge before booking.
Four choices at Tattershall Lakes
Avocet Lodge sleeps six with one dog; Sunset Lodge at Tattershall sleeps six with two, with doubles, bunks and a futon across two bedrooms. Lakeside Lodge Retreat sleeps four and takes two dogs, with a private spa and uneven outdoor ground; check its outdoor seating condition before booking. 10 Duck Lagoon sleeps eight including a sofa bed and accepts one small, non-shedding dog. None has an enclosed garden. Expect aircraft noise; supervise dogs around fishing lakes. Check arrival days, seasonal facilities and paid passes.
Lake View Lodge at Tallington
For a waterside stay in the south of the county, Lake View Lodge takes two dogs and sleeps up to six. There are two bedrooms; the extra two places use a sofa bed, which needs arranging when you book. The hot tub shares the deck with outdoor seating and access to the lake. Although the deck is enclosed, it is not an enclosed garden, and dogs still need supervision near the water. There are no child facilities, and WiFi can be slow.
